Match Report: VCF Femenino earn maiden away win in regional derby at Villarreal CF (0-2)

VCF Femenino played their first derby of the season against their regional opposition Villarreal CF on Saturday 18th of December at 4 pm kick-off time at the Mini Estadi on Matchday 14 of Primera Iberdrola.
VCF Femenino had a positive start to the regional derby looking to dictate the tempo and the play while Villarreal CF tried to hit VCF Femenino on the break as both sides enjoyed respective forays into the opposition box.
The home side enjoyed the first meaningful chance of the game on 17 minutes. Esther pulled off a sensational save to turn the ball behind for a corner kick. The game saw a quiet spell until over the half-hour mark when Sheila had further efforts off target for Villarreal CF.

Asun charged down the flank, rattled the crossbar and the ball came back off the bar and it kindly fell to substitute Olga who had just run out onto the pitch a few minutes ago. She turned the ball into the back of the net to get off the mark for VCF Femenino.
Candela rounded off the scoreline by blowing off the cobwebs on 87 minutes. VCF Femenino claimed a long-awaited win in the regional derby away at Villarreal CF to climb up the table into 12th place and into double figures on 11 points.
